There’s no need to wait all day for the perfect wave when you can chase velvet-smooth tunnels, supertubes, perfect peelers or gnarly freight trains (as the locals would say). How? Heli-surfing. All you need is local knowledge, private land access, oh and one other thing… a helicopter. Luckily, we have it all.

This trip is totally flexible as everything can change depending on the direction of the swell. What is definite is that each day you’ll set off with your pilot, flying over glaciers, waterfalls and rain forest to deserted reefs and beaches. There will be around 3-4 hours flying time a day, stopping off along the way to test the surf. Stunning scenery, remote waves and kiwi charm – that’s heli-surfing in NZ.
